Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry expects Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti to splash the cash this summer as the club look to continue their improvement on the field.

The Blues have already improved exponentially under the experienced Italian boss and could still qualify for the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League with a strong finish to the season.

Having competed on the spending front for a number of seasons, the Toffees had previously struggled to transfer expenditure into performances.

However, despite suffering damaging back to back league defeats before the international break, Ancelotti has reasons to be optimistic over the future at Goodison Park.

With government permission for a new state of the art stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock secured, Fry told Football FanCast he expects the club to further improve their ranks this summer:

“It’s no good building a new ground that’s wonderful and one of the best in the world if you’ve not got the players on the pitch, so I can see that. With the manager they’ve got as well, they will attract players in the summer, they will spend big money in the summer.”

Will Everton get top-four this season?

Everton will no doubt be hoping to improve their squad over the summer, although finances will be stretched across football following the impact of the pandemic.

Any business that can be done would no doubt be a welcome boost for Ancelotti who will have his eye on ending a 26-year wait for a trophy at the club.

Indeed, the prospect of big money being splashed in the summer will surely excite Everton fans, with a possible European spot coming their way with two games in hand over every team above them apart from West Ham.
