First up in this Gareth Barry quiz, which club did Villa sign the midfielder from?

Cash was signed from Nottingham Forest in the last summer transfer window for £14.18m, and he has gone on to make 25 appearances for Villa in the Premier League.

In those appearances, he has averaged a 6.97 rating from WhoScored, which ranks him in fifth place and even though he has until June 2025 on his current contract, Hendrie wants to see Villa give him a new deal.

He said: “I watched him at Forest, and he was exactly the same, but I feel that he’s got better coming into this Villa side. He’s granted a new contract because people will be looking for someone of his calibre and the way and styles teams play these days… he likes to get forward, and he’s got that aggressive manner in him.

“Get him signed up. You know, these are the players that we want to see signed, and we want to build on, and he’s still got plenty of years ahead of him.”

TIF Thoughts on Cash and a new deal…

Considering this is the 23-year-old’s first season in the Premier League, he has performed well for Villa, but we think it could be too early to be considering giving Cash a new contract.

There is long enough left on his current deal to ward off any interest, and therefore, we don’t believe that Cash needs a new contract.

However, the 23-year-old has done well this year, and we will be keen to see how he progresses at Villa Park.
