First up in this Gareth Barry quiz, which club did Villa sign the midfielder from?

On the subject of the upcoming transfer window and which players he would like to see Villa make a move for, Bardell had this to say about Chelsea striker and former Villa loan player Tammy Abraham.

He said: “I’d like to see Tammy because I know he fits in at Villa.

“He fits in with the way Dean Smith wants to play football so I think if we can get him, I think he’s a no-brainer.”

As mentioned earlier, Abraham spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Villa Park back when the club managed to make their way from the Championship to the Premier League in the process (per BBC Sport).

During his season with Dean Smith’s side, the 23-year-old, who is currently valued at £36 million, managed to score 26 goals in 40 appearances throughout their Championship campaign (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Dan Bardell’s comments on a potential summer transfer move for Abraham…

Given how the Englishman spent a full season at Villa and helped them win promotion from the Championship to the Premier League thanks to his goals throughout the campaign, it’s understandable why Bardell would like to see the club try and sign him once again this summer on a potential permanent deal and why he’d be a good fit.

Also, with it recently being reported that Abraham’s future is currently up in the air because manager Thomas Tuchel is supposedly unsure of the player’s quality to be the main striker at Stamford Bridge, this could potentially allow Villa to swoop in for him during the summer if they decided they want him back.
