On the latest video on his Youtube channel, Charles Watts has provided an update on Bukayo Saka’s injury status.

The 19-year-old winger suffered an issue with his hamstring during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory in the north London derby last month but recovered in time to feature in the 3-3 draw with West Ham a week later.

Despite playing 77 minutes against the Hammers, Saka was forced to withdraw from Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad because of the injury and also missed the defeat to Liverpool over the weekend.

However, Watts has revealed that the teenager should be able to play some part in the Gunners’ midweek clash with Slavia Prague.

He said: (15:28) “Bukayo Saka, hopefully, he will be okay for Thursday night. He has been back training, he was training before the Liverpool game, Arsenal obviously decided to err on the side of caution with Saka and give him a little bit more time to continue to build back to full fitness after that hamstring injury, but you will expect hopefully that he will be okay for Thursday night.”

TIF Thoughts on Saka…

Despite his tender age, Saka has been one of Arsenal’s most important players this season, bagging six goals and laying on seven assists in all competitions.

The capital club will be hoping to go all the way in the Europa League this season, as it may be their best chance of securing Champions League football for the following campaign, and therefore, Arteta may risk the versatile forward on Thursday.

With the delayed European Championships just a few months away, Saka needs to ease himself back into action carefully, or he runs the risk of being ruled out of his first major tournament through injury.
