Football journalist and podcaster George Elek has been sharing his praise for Sheffield Wednesday winger Adam Reach and his recent run of form for the Championship side.

This comes after Elek recently co-hosted the latest episode of The Totally Football League Show where he previewed the weekend’s fixtures across the Championship, League One and League Two.

An easy one to kick off our quiz on the 2020 summer transfer window in the EFL, which player left Birmingham City to join Borussia Dortmund?

On the subject of the Owls, Elek had this to say about Reach in particular.

He said: “Reach’s form at the moment has been fairly key for me, he’s not a player that I’ve necessarily always bought into, but he seems to be the creative outlet who’s getting Sheffield Wednesday into the kind of positions they want to be getting in and were probably struggling to under Garry Monk and Tony Pulis.”

Wednesday signed Reach back in the 2016 summer transfer window from fellow Championship club Middlesbrough for a fee of £5.31 million.

Since then, the 28-year-old, who is currently valued at £2.52 million, has gone on to make 221 appearances for the Yorkshire club across all competitions in which he has managed to score 22 goals and provide 33 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on George Elek’s comments on Reach…

The fact that Reach has played 90 minutes in each of Wednesday’s three previous league fixtures shows how much of an important figure he is to Owls manager Darren Moore.

However, considering the Englishman hasn’t managed to score a goal or provide an assist for the team since their 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers back in February, Moore will undoubtedly be hoping that Reach can repay the faith his manager has put in him over recent weeks and help fire the Owls to safety.
