Sheffield Wednesday favourite Carlton Palmer has predicted club owner Dejphon Chansiri will remain beyond the end of this season.

With relegation to League One looking like a distinct possibility, there had been speculation over whether the Thai businessman would stay on at Hillsborough beyond this wretched campaign.

However, Palmer, who represented the Owls on 71 occasions in the Premier League, has exclusively told Football FanCast he expects Chansiri to continue at the helm:

“It’s not going to be as easy as that right now. You’ve got to remember, it’s Covid, this, that, the other.

“It’s not going to be as easy as that to sell the football club and the chairman, the one thing that nobody can argue about, they can argue about his running of the football club, but they can’t argue about the money that he’s put into the football club. It’s just been misguided in my opinion.”

Wednesday’s survival chances suffered another major dent on Good Friday when they lost 1-0 to Watford before Birmingham City, situated directly above the drop zone, picked up three points against high-flying Swansea.
