Leeds United have been reacting to a rather impressive stat surrounding their right-back Luke Ayling.

It has been a very impressive season for the , as they sit comfortably in mid-table in their first season back in the top-flight since 2003-04, and have done so with arguably one of the most entertaining styles of play that the Premier League has seen.

However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t put in the hard work too as the £4.5m-rated right-back shows. He currently leads the league in tackles this season with a total of 92, four ahead of his next closest challenger.

This was relayed to fans via the @LUFCDATA, where there were plenty of delighted to see him leading the league, with many of them using it as an opportunity to send a message to England boss Gareth that he should be considered for a call-up soon:

“Southgate has to take note”

“But no England call up??? Stats don’t lie”
“And still can’t get a game for England so much for picking players on form. And the guy plays with a smile on his face because he’s earned it on the pitch.”
“What a stat”
“In what is becoming a non-contact sport that’s outstanding”
“@lukeayling_8 was my man of the match against Man U. He dominated in tackles was very impressed”

Should Leeds extend Luke Ayling's contract?

Given the competition for that spot, it certainly will be a tough battle over the next few weeks.
