Leeds United fans have been reacting to comments made by Marcelo Bielsa about the proposed European Super League.
News emerged over the weekend about plans for the ‘big six’ of English football to break away and join the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and others in their own league in a development that would change football as we know it. And this led to some pretty vocal protests outside Elland Road ahead of Leeds United’s game with Liverpool last night, a game which ended 1-1.
Leeds boss Bielsa spoke about the issue before the game (via @LUFCDATA) and offered some pretty strong words: “The fundamental problem is the rich always aspire to be more rich without considering the consequences for the rest.”
Fans absolutely loved those words as they agreed with his sentiment about the proposals:
“No matter who you support in football you cannot help but respect Bielsa.”

Kudos to him for being on the ‘right side’ of this argument as far as these fans are concerned. It could have seriously damaged his relationship with the fans if he’d have come out in favour of the proposals.
