Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed footage of Kris Boyd stating his belief that the Whites are overhyped.

As recently as the 2017/18 season, Leeds were very much a bang-average second-tier side – but Kris Boyd decided to take aim at Marcelo Bielsa’s team for allegedly underperforming despite transforming them into a club who now occupy a place in the top half of the Premier League, just nine points behind fifth-placed Chelsea.

Starting with an easy one who is Leeds United's top Premier League goalscorer this season?

Speaking recently to Sky Sports (via Football Daily), Boyd claimed that Leeds are “overhyped” because of the amount they have spent on incoming transfers since gaining promotion, before going on to suggest that the Whites are actually underperforming in relation to their net spend.

However, after Football Daily relayed Boyd’s comments on Twitter, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to staunchly disagree with the former Rangers centre-forward.

Do you think Boyd has a point?

So, what exactly did these Leeds United fans have to say in reaction to Kris Boyd’s comments?

“9th in the league with a Championship squad. What’s he even saying? Does he research what he’s saying? Comparing us to SU is the most dead comparison you will hear.”

@ConorJHMcG

“State of this. Clown.”

@calumkinnear11

“You can actually see Boyd squirming in his chair when Jeff questioned him. Well done Jeff.”

@greaneyend

“He hasn’t got a clue.”

@paulwalsh1984

“Who is this guy?”

@stubberfieldkev

“What a joke this guy is.”

@footballfallout

All in all, it would appear as if these Leeds United fans wholeheartedly disagree with Boyd’s opinion, and, considering the fact that this is their club’s first season in the top flight for 16 years, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side playing highly entertaining football and sitting comfortably in the top half of the league, we have to say, it is not difficult to pick holes in Boyd’s argument.
