Leeds United fans have been reacting to footage of goalkeeper Illan Meslier during their recent game against Manchester United.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men did a better job at keeping the Red Devils at bay than they did during the reverse fixture, as they managed to keep a clean sheet this time around. Part of that was down to the performance of the Frenchman, who made four saves on the day, taking his total to 131 across the season, the second-most in the Premier League.
Without a doubt, though, his stop from Marcus Rashford’s free-kick was the pick of the bunch on the day, a flying save to push the effort over the bar when it was dipping just under the bar. The club Twitter feed decided to show the save from multiple angles and it left many fans in awe and highly impressed when they had the chance to look at it over and over again:
“This looked great.. and it was.. but Meslier was never letting that in.”
Has Meslier got the potential to be one of the best goalkeepers in the division?
