Leeds United supporters have been reacting on Twitter after Marcelo Bielsa ruled Raphinha out of their upcoming clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.

The west Yorkshire outfit take on the Seagulls over the weekend as they attempt to cement their place in the top half of the Premier League table.

One man who they won’t be able to call upon, however, is 24-year-old winger Raphinha after the South American was once against ruled out of action by his manager at a recent press conference.

The former Rennes forward has impressed since arriving at Elland Road last summer, bagging six goals and providing six assists in 26 top-flight appearances, but a Fernandinho challenge in the recent win over Manchester City is set to keep his compatriot on the sidelines for a little while longer.

Raphinha has already missed draws against Liverpool and Manchester United, and the Leeds fans are clearly angry and upset at his prolonged absence.

“That Raphinha injury sounds nastier than we thought”

@VidukaEra

“Terrible news about Raph. Hopefully Rodrigo starts.”

@RobSkelly3

“Fuming about this. Raphinha was deliberately taken out by Fernandinho in the City game, who was only booked yet Rapha has now missed 3 games as a result of his injury”

@pickard_alex

“Further proof rancid “tackles” like Fernandinho’s on Raphinha needs punishing more harshly.”

@MesutAutesil

“You are kidding me. No Raphinha again. Can we just call the season off?”

@WarriorLeeds

“But the deliberate action by Fernandinho goes unpunished – disgusting to do that to a fellow professional – I’m sure their was an easier way to stop our Raphinha”

@mjgarrity72

Given the winger’s start to life at Elland Road, it is perhaps no surprise these supporters are so downbeat at this fitness update.
