Many Leeds United fans have been reacting to footage of Tyler Roberts from their game against Sheffield United.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men ran out 2-1 winners thanks to an effort from Jack Harrison and an own goal by Phil Jagielka, but there was more to the game than just those goals, as this clip of Roberts, valued at £4.5m on Transfermarkt, shows.

@motforum posted this footage of the 22-year-old spraying a pass out wide to Harrison in the build-up to their second goal, comparing it to Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne’s later that day, and Leeds fans simply couldn’t get enough of it, with plenty of praise being poured onto Roberts for his part in the goal as well as his recent displays:

“Some ball that Tyler lad!!should keep the haters away a while”

“Think the lad is playing himself into a new contract”
“Thought Tyler has been excellent the last few games. Replacement for Pablo?”
“When Roberts isn’t in headless chicken mode and actually concentrates, he can make some unbelievable plays. Could be our new Hernandez if he’s mentored correctly.”
“I remember as a youngster (and he still is) pundits were literally in awe of his skills, he’s had a rough time, I still believe he could be special given more playing time and experience”
“Can’t believe the stick Ty Ro gets from some Leeds fans… reminds me of Bamford’s treatment last year… now look at him… if Bielsa rates Ty Ro who are we to question him”

Do you think Tyler Roberts should be competing with Bamford at centre-forward?

Roberts has come in for some serious criticism in recent weeks, but if he keeps producing moments like this, then the fans might start to look on him with a little bit more favour in the future.
