Dean Windass has exclusively told This is Futbol that he’ll put money on Leeds finishing in the top four if Marcelo Bielsa stays and the recruitment is right.

Leeds’ draw with Liverpool on Monday evening extended their unbeaten run to five matches, leaving them on course for a top-half finish on their return to the topflight.

However, Bielsa works on a 12-month rolling contract, meaning his latest deal is set to expire at the end of the season, although strong reports believe the Argentine is expected to extend his stay in South Yorkshire.

Leeds have already started looking towards adding to their squad for next season, with Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico already on Bielsa’s radar, whilst Arsenal versatile defender Ainsley Maitland Niles is another name being linked to the Elland Road outfit.

Despite their impressive first campaign back in the Premier League, the Whites are currently nine points off the Champions League places.

But Windass told This is Futbol that with the right signings, Bielsa’s men could bridge that gap and finish in the top four.
