A lot of international football fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Celtic’s Ryan Christie in Scotland’s World Cup Qualifying match with Austria.
The 26-year-old was selected to start the match, but it is clear that he didn’t impress these international football fans who slated the Celtic star.
“No bias here but I mean this honestly Ryan Christie is an absolutely horrendous excuse for a footballer!”
“Christie is awful”
“Dykes looks out of sorts I agree but Christie has offered nothing, him and Armstrong keep shooting on site or giving the ball away”
Do you think Christie was that bad?
Yes
No
Christie, who is valued at £8.10m by Transfermarkt, has been Celtic’s second-best player in the league this season with a 7.33 WhoScored rating but these football fans clearly didn’t think he was up to much on Thursday night.
They continued to slate Christie’s performance.
“Looks like Clarke uses the same Ryan Christie blinkers that John Kennedy and Neil Lennon have”
“How Christie has managed to stay on that park is beyond me”
“How are Christie and Dykes still on the pitch?! Clarke is useless”
“Ryan Christie is honking”
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League but judging by these reactions; we don’t think any of these fans think he deserves that move.
Christie has clearly performed well for Celtic this season in the league, judging by his average rating, but it looks like he didn’t impress these fans.
Scotland still have games against Israel and the Faroe Islands in this international break, so we will be keen to see how he does in those fixtures.
