Former Celtic star Scott McDonald has been speaking on the PLZ Football podcast regarding all things Celtic following the recent sacking of manager Neil Lennon.

The Bhoys find themselves a huge 18 points behind their Old Firm rivals, who are set to deny the Hoops making it 10 consecutive Scottish Premiership titles.

Odsonne Edouard has been Celtic’s brightest spark in front of goal this season having scored 16 goals in the league – making him the top scorer in the Premiership.

After a disappointing season so far, Celtic parted ways with Lennon and McDonald believes they may also have to part ways with some of their star players this summer.

“Celtic have done extremely well in previous transfer windows to hold out for big money,” McDonald said.

“And I imagine, obviously, Edouard will be one name that will be on that list, and it’ll be a matter of how much can they actually get for Edouard now, we’re talking probably a year or so ago, and, you know, bigger money than [Moussa] Dembele.

“Is that going to be a possibility now? Probably not. And on the back of the performances as well of all the players, have their values gone down? So I think there’s going to be questions on Edouard.”

TIF Thoughts on Scott McDonald’s comments regarding Edouard…

Edouard has arguably been Celtic’s best attacking performer this season and with that, comes interest from clubs outside of Scotland. Arsenal have been heavily linked with the French striker, which could prove difficult for Celtic to keep ahold of the 23-year-old.

However, if they are in a position where they are willing to allow the striker to leave, the interest from clubs like Arsenal could prove easier for them to get the figure they hope for.
