Celtic fans have been offering contrasting reactions after Paul Robinson has claimed Burnley boss Sean Dyche would ‘love to manage Celtic’.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and England goalkeeper played under Dyche at Turf Moor towards the end of his career and believes his former manager would be an ideal candidate to replace Neil Lennon at Parkhead.

It’s been a calamitous campaign for Celtic, who are 18 points off the pace at the top of the table, and whoever takes over the Glasgow giants faces a tough task.

Lennon’s former assistant John Kennedy is currently in interim charge, however, Robinson believes Dyche would be the sensible appointment.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Football Insider, Robinson said: “Sean Dyche would be a really smart appointment. He is an incredible manager and a top-class man manager. If you look at his record and what he has done at Burnley over the years – it speaks for itself.”

The 49-year-old is often a divisive figure amongst football fans, with his style splitting opinions, and his potential arrival at Celtic has had a similar effect upon their supporters after the claim was shared online:

Celtic fans enjoyed spectacular football as well as shedloads of silverware under Brendan Rodgers, and the Hoops fans seem unsure that Dyche is the man to bring the good times back to Glasgow’s East End.
