Journalist Graeme Young has talked about Scott Parker and why the Englishman would be a good option to become a Celtic manager.
This came after Young appeared as a guest on the latest episode of The Record Celtic podcast and the panel talked about multiple issues involving the Parkhead-based club.
The main topic of discussion was managerial options for the Hoops and Young suggested the name of Parker. He feels that the Fulham manager fits the bill for the Hoops and the Englishman would be his choice for Celtic manager.
Bournemouth were recently linked with a move for Parker and it was stated that the Cherries could look to appoint the Englishman, but it would depend on whether Fulham manage to stay in the Premier League next season.
Is Scott Parker a genuine option for Celtic?
Young believes that appointing Parker would be a similar appointment as Frank Lampard – someone who is young and still establishing himself.
The journalist said: “Out of all the managers, I just think if you’re going that young manager approach, people made the point about Lampard as a kind of rival to Gerrard, I think Parker.
“I think he’s had issues with Fulham in the past, keeps him up – even if he doesn’t, I think he’s a proper switched-on manager. They play great football. He’s young, he speaks very well. That would be my choice.”
TIF Thoughts on Scott Parker to Celtic…
He helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League from the Championship and it suggests that he does have the quality to manage a top-flight club. His playing style relies on pressing high up the pitch and playing attacking football too.
Parker is still young and may improve and get better in the future. So because of that, he could be a good option for the Bhoys.
