Lots of Celtic supporters have been talking about an update involving Kristoffer Ajer that emerged on social media.

It was recently reported that Ajer was dropped by the Norwegian national team for their game against Gibraltar in the World Cup qualifying campaign. Indeed, he was an unused substitute in the routine 3-0 victory.

This came after Norway manager Stale Solbakken had told the Celtic defender to depart Parkhead so that he can improve himself. Norway assistant manager Brede Hangeland also said the same, claiming that when he plays in Scotland, he seems to be a senior player playing at a junior level.

How much do you think members of the Bhoys' squad are worth according to Transfermarkt? Starting with an easy one how much do you think Odsonne Edouard is worth?

Milan have been heavily linked with the Norwegian and had a bid rejected for him. Apart from that, Paolo Maldini had confirmed that Ajer could be on Milan’s shortlist for defensive targets in the previous summer window.

Some of these Celtic fans would be happy to see Ajer leave, with one fan saying that the defender still can’t head a ball properly.

Ajer has won the sixth-highest number of aerial duels per game, also making the joint third-highest interceptions per game for the Hoops. He has played the second-most number of passes per game for Celtic this season and he boasts a high success rate of 88.2%, which suggests he is also comfortable in possession (as per WhoScored).

These statistics show that Ajer has been an important player for the Bhoys and losing him, especially for a cheap fee, wouldn’t help Celtic at all.
