Celtic fans have been reacting to news that one of their players has received an accolade for their performance this past week.
Defender Kristoffer Ajer, valued at £3.6m on Transfermarkt, has found himself in the SPFL Team of the Week for his work in their recent victory over Aberdeen. He was certainly a rock at the back for John Kennedy’s side at Celtic Park with a WhoScored rating of 7.7, helped out by his nine clearances, five aerial duels won, three interceptions and a pass completion rate of 84% as they won the game 1-0.
It was the third time that he had picked up the honour this season, and the Celtic social media team felt it only necessary to share the news to the supporters, and it gave them an opportunity to praise the 22-year-old Norwegian for his efforts, not just in that game, but across his whole time at the club, with some begging him to stick around for a while longer:
“Best defender in the Country”
Will Celtic keep Ajer this summer?
Yes
No
At 22, he’s certainly got a bright future ahead of him, so could he be the next Virgil Van Dijk by making his name in Scotland before moving elsewhere?
