Former agent William Glavin has recently talked about Karamoko Dembele and his situation at Celtic.
This came after Glavin appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the Celtic Now & Forever podcast and the panel talked about multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was Dembele and his situation. Glavin believes that Dembele could’ve played a part in the first-team this season and he would’ve provided much-needed width to the Celtic side
Dembele is a product of the Celtic youth academy and he’s risen through the ranks at Parkhead. He’s already played for the club’s first-team, making a total of five appearances. He’s played only 15 minutes of first-team football this season.
Will it be a blow for Celtic to lose Karamoko Dembele?
Glavin talked about Dembele’s situation, saying that he is ‘disappointed’ about how the teenager’s development has taken place.
The ex-agent said: “I’ve actually been a wee bit, as a Celtic fan, a little bit disappointed that he’s maybe not had another chance of maybe playing in the first-team, especially now because I think the Celtic team has really lacked a bit of width. He could’ve given us that bit of width. Forrest, for me, has been a big miss year but I think somebody young like Dembele could’ve come in and he could have helped us.”
TIF Thoughts on Karamoko Dembele…
Dembele is capable of playing on the right and on the left wing. In the current campaign, Celtic haven’t had a single out-and-out option for the right-wing position, which suggests that Dembele could’ve filled in at some point.
Having said that, The Athletic’s Celtic journalist Kieran Devlin has stated that there have been worries about Dembele’s application and attitude this season. And because of that, he’s not played for the first-team this season. Since that has hampered his development, it is easy to see why Dembele hasn’t played for the side.
