Celtic pundit Natasha Meikle has delivered her opinion about the idea of Chris Wilder managing at Parkhead.

Meikle appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. The panel also talked about potential candidates for the managerial role at Celtic and Meikle briefly talked about Wilder. She made it clear that she wouldn’t entertain the idea of the Englishman managing the Glasgow giants.

Wilder recently left Sheffield United and the reasons behind his exit revolved around recruitment at the club and the fact that he wasn’t given the players he wanted. He has been mooted as a potential future Bhoys manager in recent weeks.

Meikle didn’t sound positive about the idea of Wilder managing Celtic and believes that he shouldn’t even be in the running.

She said: “The talk of Wilder, I won’t entertain. I don’t think he should even be considered for the job.”

TIF Thoughts on Wilder to Celtic…

Wilder has loads of experience of managing in England and he has managed different clubs at various levels of the English game.

He guided the Blades from League One to the Premier League. He brought the innovation of overlapping centre-backs to the team and while he has left Sheffield United, there were certain disagreements with the board and the owners that led to the downfall rather than his ability.

His recent CV is certainly impressive and because of that, Wilder might not be a bad option for Celtic in the future, despite Meikle’s scepticism.
