Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

One of the topics that he spent quite a bit of time on was Neil Lennon’s potential replacements after he resigned last week.

One name who has been linked with the vacant role at Celtic Park has been former Everton manager and current Belgium boss Roberto Martinez.

This led Graham to discuss the possibility of Martinez becoming Celtic’s next manager.

He said: “For me, to get Roberto Martinez, the problem is timing; it’s because he’s at the Euros and because the World Cup is a year later.

“So when people go ‘why you saying Martinez, why you saying Martinez, you cannot get [him], that’s all down to money’.

“For me, Martinez is not down to money; his wages at Belgium prove that it’s not going to be down to money; it’s going to be down to timing.”

Would you like to see Martinez appointed as first-team manager?

TIF Thoughts on Martinez taking the Celtic job…

The former Wigan Athletic manager is apparently on around €2.4m per year (£2.08m) in his job as the Belgian national team manager; however, he has two major competitions coming up in the space of the next two years.

So, we understand why Martinez might decide that the Celtic job is not for him; therefore, Graham makes an interesting point.

However, should he decide that he has had enough of Belgium, he could be an ideal appointment for the Bhoys as he has a defined style of play and has had success in his career as a manager.

We would be intrigued to see Martinez at Celtic, and we will be watching on to see if the Bhoys can lure him to Glasgow.
