Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was the club’s potential new manager, and he revealed that his biggest fear about whoever the Bhoys appoint is that they won’t make the right appointment.

He said: “My biggest fear is that we don’t make the right appointment because this is probably the biggest managerial decision potentially in our lifetimes.

“Because if they don’t get this right, then it does potentially set us back. We can’t afford to give a new manager full control – and that’s what he deserves and that’s what he should get – and a budget to then become a failure after a season, or a season and a half or whatever.

TIF Thoughts on Mason’s fear…

Given that the Bhoys are currently 20 points behind Rangers and the Gers have already won the league, we can see why Mason feels the way he does because the club cannot afford to get this one wrong, or they could be in for seasons of further struggle.

Celtic have been nowhere near as good as Rangers, and whoever comes in to replace Neil Lennon has to be ready to step up and take on the challenge of returning Celtic to the top of Scottish football.

It is clearly going to be a pivotal decision.

If they were to appoint someone like Roy Keane – who has been linked with the post – then you would think that the chances of things going wrong could be quite high given his managerial record.

However, if they got someone like Eddie Howe, then he could prove to be the ideal manager given his achievements with Bournemouth.

So, we understand why Mason is nervous about Celtic’s next manager.
