Celtic supporters have been reacting to a post on the club’s official Twitter account after interim manager John Kennedy provided an interview to Celtic TV.
The 37-year-old took charge of the Bhoys on a temporary basis after Neil Lennon stepped down from his role as manager of the Glasgow giants last month following a 1-0 defeat to Ross County.
Since then, the Hoops have picked up four points from a possible six under Kennedy’s tutelage, and his biggest test is set to come this Sunday when the newly-crowned champions make the trip to Celtic Park.
In the interview, Kennedy said: “I’ve always put pressure on myself, as a player and a coach, to maximise what I do whatever the role may be.” However, it appears not many fans are convinced by his credentials for the job on a long-term basis.
“Just me worried by the first time bit?”
“Maybe stop playing Christie and subbing Turbull off then to maximise”
“Announce Jesse Marsch”
“Jack Ross now please and Gavin as his assistant”
“Ok now Get Eddie Howe”
“Kennedy out Howe, Lampard or Rafa in”
At only 37, Kennedy could well have a big future in football, but Celtic perhaps need an experienced manager at the helm to steer their rebuilding job in the right direction, and the supporters’ cries for people like Eddie Howe and Jesse Marsch are totally justifiable.
