Some Celtic fans have been left rather angry following the latest news coming out of the club’s academy.

According to a report in The Daily Record, 17-year-old goalkeeper Vincent Angelini has turned down a contract offer from the club and is set to leave Celtic Park at the end of the season when his current deal expires, with a whole host of clubs from across Europe reportedly interested in bringing him on board.

There’s been a problem recently at Celtic when it comes to giving youngsters chances in the first team, as this report from The Athletic details, and it’s possible Angelini might have wanted to stay if he felt there was more of a pathway ahead of him. And it’s that problem that seemed to get these fans riled up when the news was relayed to them via the Everything Celtic Twitter account:

“Another one? What is going on at Celtic….. So many of our young future players are leaving! Something is seriously wrong here….”

“There is currently no clear pathway to the 1st team for these players. Conor Hazard is 22 and only got his opportunity this season and even then it doesn’t look like he’ll be back in, Bar injuries. I understand why these players would want to leave.”
“”Disappointing” is far too gentle a word…something is rotting inside Paradise”
“Typical disappointment from Celtic”
“The club has been way too comfortable letting these players go.”
“This has to stop now.”

Are you annoyed by Celtic losing many younger players?

With this season having been nothing short of a disaster for the club both on and off the pitch, the fans are probably looking for any sort of positive news that they can get – and this news certainly wasn’t it.
