Wolves reporter Tim Spiers has spoken on the latest episode of the Evening & Star Wolves podcast regarding all things related to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Responding to some questions from viewers, Spiers was asked about the future of Wolves’ Adama Traore, who has been subject to transfer speculation throughout this season.

Traore had a great 2019/20 Premier League season, scoring four times and recording nine assists, however, this season, Traore has only one assist and zero goals to his name in the Premier League.

Discussing his future at Wolves, Spiers had this to say on the potential asking price for the 25-year-old.

He said: “[I’d sell for] at least double what they paid for him. So, at least £40m. But I think probably a little bit more than that, given we know what he can be.

“Nuno has been talking about him quite a lot recently in glowing terms, saying quite pertinently in a press conference a couple of weeks ago. He basically said Adama Traore is going to be incredible one day, it’s all going to click, it’s all going to drop, he’s going to be unbelievable, – he wasn’t talking like this at all, I’m just paraphrasing.”

Is Adama Traore worth £40m+?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Traore joined Wolves in 2018 from Middlesbrough for a fee of £18m after two years spent in Teeside. Wolves broke their record transfer fee for the Spaniard and Spiers believes they could at least double their money for the winger.

TIF Thoughts on Spiers’ comments…

Traore has failed to live up to last season’s standards in terms of his numbers, however, it is clear from what Spiers has to say that Wolves do not want to sell one of their key assets this summer – but maybe they could have their hand forced if a big-money bid comes in.
