Journalist Joe Edwards has been speaking on the latest Evening & Star Wolves podcast to discuss the latest news regarding Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

The journalists featuring on the podcast allowed some of their viewers to ask them some questions and one asked about the future of Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 21-year-old was loaned out to Swansea City in the summer to gain some first-team experience, however, Wolves recalled the youngster as a result of injuries in their own squad.

Speaking about the long-term future of the midfielder, Edwards had this to say on the topic.

He said: “I think if a decent bid comes in for him this summer, it’s worth seriously entertaining.

“And not only just from a Wolves perspective, but from the player’s perspective as well. He got what he wanted and what he needed for nigh on two years, really, when he went to Swansea. And it was something that we said that had benefited for a while. Went there, of course, injury-curtailed that time and then before we knew he was back at Wolves, back on the bench, and not really doing a lot.”

Since returning to Molineux in January, Gibbs-White has only played 96 minutes across three appearances in the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Edwards’ comments…

Going from Swansea’s statement regarding Wolves recalling Gibbs-White, their frustration at the decision is evident, with the midfielder only making five appearances for the Swans in the Championship as a result of the fractured foot he had suffered from early on in the season.

However, going from Edwards’ comments, it seems he would be fine to see the 21-year-old leave this summer as long as Wolves received a ‘decent’ sum of money.
