On the latest episode of the E&S Wolves podcast, journalist Joe Edwards has been talking injury updates ahead of the international break for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Wolves have suffered from injuries to some of their most important players in recent months and one of those players was Daniel Podence.
The Portuguese winger was confirmed to have suffered an adductor injury which was stated to have the 25-year-old sidelined for up to six weeks.
However, Edwards was able to provide the Wolves fans with some potentially uplifting news regarding the winger.
He said: “I think longer than he thought [time sidelined], it was start of February that he said, I’ll be out for five or six weeks. And you know, it’s been that now and I asked Nuno, was it last Friday, about Podence and he hadn’t trained with the group and hadn’t trained individually either on the grass at Compton.
“I think he’s still just restricted to gym work and stuff like that at the minute. So, just depends what level of work you can do after the international break, maybe could sneak in for West Ham, but I’d probably say it might be the one after that, Fulham, or perhaps even the one after that, really.
“So we’ll see hopefully sooner rather than later.”
Have Wolves missed Podence recently?

Podence had featured 18 times for Wolves in the Premier League before he suffered his injury and had found the back of the net three times in those league appearances (via Transfermarkt).
Wolves do not play until April now when they welcome West Ham as Espirito Santo’s side aim to climb closer to the top half of the table with just nine games remaining in their season.

Wolves have struggled massively in recent weeks through injuries and to hear Podence could be returning soon will certainly please the fans. Although it does not look like there is a great deal for Wolves to play for in the remainder of this season, their fans will want to see them finish on a high with their main men expected to return before the end of the campaign.
