Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on Twitter after a report emerged linking Dean Henderson, Nick Pope and Sam Johnstone with a move to the club this summer.

Current Spurs number-one Hugo Lloris is entering the twilight years of his career after turning 34 last December, and according to The Sun, the North London outfit have drafted up a three-man shortlist of potential replacements.

The three shot-stoppers were all called up to Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad to face San Marino, Albania and Poland in the World Cup qualifiers, and it appears the trio could face similar interest from Jose Mourinho in the upcoming transfer window.

Lloris only has a year left on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the report states that the Frenchman is keen to return to his homeland this summer, leaving the door open for one of Henderson, Pope, or Johnstone to claim his starting spot, and it’s clear the Spurs supporters are keen to see a new face at the club:

“Henderson is a no-brainer”

@THFC_GD

“Henderson, spend the money, long contract then it’s solved for another 5+ years.”

@ohchopper

“Pope, not a question. Saw him a couple of years ago. Always liked him.”

@bullxead

“Nick Pope is the best out-and-out shot-stopper in the league”

@thfcdoug

“Henderson or Johnstone please”

@vonjen_vondul

“I’d be happy with any of these”

@smitherssmith42

All three potential candidates have had good seasons, as their international call-ups demonstrate, but replacing Lloris will be a big task, and it’s one Spurs can’t afford to get wrong given the level of competition in the Premier League.
