Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that the club are ‘very interested’ in signing Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
Both Maignan and Lloris are set to enter the final year of their contracts at their respective clubs over the summer, meaning a transfer is likely, and the report claims that the Tottenham shot-stopper has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
If the 34-year-old World Cup winner does depart north London, then Jose Mourinho would need a new No 1, and Maignan’s impressive performances in Ligue 1 this season have caught the Portuguese manager’s eye, and it seems as though the £18m-rated French international would be a popular replacement for his compatriot.
“Sign him. brilliant young keeper”
“Sign him up”
“Would be a good replacement for Hugo tbf”
“That would be class”
“He does look a hell of a player”
Maignan is a very highly rated young ‘keeper and has a played every game in Lille’s title push this season. If Spurs can secure the 25-year-old’s signature this summer, then they could have the perfect replacement for Lloris sorted.
