Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that one of their transfer targets is set to become available this summer.

RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka is expected to depart the Austrian champions in the upcoming transfer window, according to Salzburg Nachrichten.

The report states that Christoph Freund, the Salzburg sporting director, has conceded that the Red Bull Arena outfit will have to part ways with some of their key assets at the end of the current campaign.

Freund said: “During the summer transfer period, there will be a lot of enquiries from clubs in the top European leagues. Players will also leave us.”

The 22-year-old striker is very highly rated within the game and has bagged an impressive 25 goals this season while laying on a further eight assists for his teammates.

Over the past few windows, Daka has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Arsenal, but Spurs also have a strong interest, and the latest developments have got their supporters excited.

“This boy is ridiculous. Whoever gets him is landing a worldie. Has everything.”

“Would love it to happen but I imagine bolstering the defence is our main priority this summer”

@martmyte

“This guy is insane”

@thfchuang

“Please be true he’s insane”

@_thfcjack

“Before Bale and the rest of our attackers recent revivals I thought Daka should be a top priority. A striker with massive potential, brilliant movement in the box, pace to run onto Kane’s through balls, versatility to play wide, fantastic work rate.”

@Belgian_Hotspur

“Priority signing”

@RF_THFC

“Should be all over this, would even sell Son if it meant financing this deal”

@iamMonac0

“The next Haaland. We should sign him instead of vinny.”

@justinleong13

Carlos Vinicius’ loan spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hasn’t been overly successful, with one start and zero goals in the league, and the signing of Daka could represent a significant upgrade if Jose Mourinho can get this one over the line.
