Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on Twitter after their new home kit for the 2021/22 season has been reportedly leaked online.

Many Spurs supporters have been sharing their views on the new Tottenham strip after The Spurs Web shared images first released by Footy Headlines.

The north London outfit have had their shirts made and designed by sportswear giants Nike since the 2017/18 campaign after they took over the contract from previous suppliers Under Armour.

Tottenham played one of the biggest games in the club’s history in a Nike kit, losing 2-0 to Liverpool in the 2019 Champions League final, but Lucas Moura’s sensational hat-trick in the second leg of the semi-final with Ajax arguably provided the most memorable moment of their partnership.

However, those fond memories don’t appear to have warmed the Spurs fans to Nike’s designs too much. The new kit is rather plain, and it hasn’t captured many people’s imaginations:

“Someone gets paid to design this… must have taken them 5 minutes”

@lUKE_cOys

“The sooner this Nike contract finishes the better. Have they produced anything iconic for us yet?”

@gregmackett

“Blimey …this seasons had grown on me, this looks like a rip-off copy of one we had a few years back”

@ShaunLewis17

“Very plain. Would look so much better if AIA was blue”

@NickSkinner_

“The collar is actually awful”

@liamdole_

“Nike make the worst kits, bring back hummel”

@L0uzoiLou

“Blimey, talk about plain and simple.”

@jonhotspur88

It seems Nike took the approach ‘less is more’ a bit too literally with this simplistic design.
