have been reacting on Twitter after being linked to Southampton centre-back Jannik Vestergaard.

The Denmark international defender has impressed for the south-coast club this season, achieving a very impressive 7.1/10 WhoScored rating after starting 19 of the Saints 28 Premier League fixtures.

With one year left on his current contract, Jose Mourinho believes the 28-year-old could be the perfect solution to his side’ struggles at the back.

Despite having one of the better defensive records in the division, Mourinho has chopped and changed his back four fairly regularly, with Davinson Sanchez replacing Eric Dier in the heart of defence in recent weeks.

According to The Mirror, the Spurs boss is keen to bolster his ranks with the former Borussia Monchengladbach man’s signature over the , and it appears most fans approve of the potential signing.

“That wouldn’t be a bad shout to be fair, would definitely be an improvement on what’s already at the club”

“He is good..Tall can win aerial shots as well as score in set-pieces…”

“Yes please”

“Up and downs before this season, been solid this time around With that Danish link with Hojbjerg moves on, it can be an option going forward”

“We should sign Jannick Vestergaard, James Tarkowski AND Nikola Milenkovic. They all end their contracts in 2022. It is a really good opportunity to improve our centre-backs and right-back options.”

“People who are saying he is not good enough haven’t clearly seen him play…”

“VVD 2.0, please make it happen”

The Southampton man would certainly add another experienced head to the Spurs backline, and if the time left on his contract brings down his potential fee, he could be a fairly cheap addition to the options currently at Mourinho’s disposal.
