Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to comments made by Scott Parker in the aftermath of their defeat to Spurs last night.
His comments centre around a very controversial moment where the home side felt like they had got an equaliser through Josh Maja, only for the play to be called back as it was deemed that Mario Lemina had handled the ball in the build-up to the goal.
With Fulham on top for more or less all of the game it certainly came as much-needed relief for Jose Mourinho’s men as it would have been a crucial goal to concede and could have led to much more. And speaking after the game (via @AlasdairGold), the Fulham boss and former Tottenham player ripped into VAR, saying that it has ‘taken the joy out of the game’.
Although there didn’t seem to be much sympathy from Spurs fans on the matter, as they felt his comments came across as nothing more than sour grapes:
“Fans screamed every week about getting screwed by goals that were offside, handballs not called etc whatever call didn’t favour their team and now they’re complaining about VAR ruining the game. Make up your minds”
Do you like VAR?
Yes
No
When it comes to handballs being given in key moments, Spurs certainly have history in that department, so you might have expected some level of sympathy for Fulham and Parker there.
