Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on Twitter to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s post-match interview following their win at Craven Cottage.
Jose Mourinho’s side edged a tight affair which saw a Tosin Adarabioyo own-goal prove enough for Spurs to take all three points back to the north London.
Spurs still remain in eighth place following their win, but the Lilywhites have reduced the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea to just five points and they have a game in hand on the Blues.
Hojbjerg has impressed during his time at Spurs since signing from Southampton in a deal believed to be worth £15m in the summer of 2020.
The Danish midfielder ended the game with a 6.6/10 rating on WhoScored, however, the Tottenham fans showed their appreciation of him doing the ‘ugly work’ in the middle of the park.
“No one has more uplifting post-match interviews than the Viking.”
“I loved how he delayed the game by pestering the official so he could look at the time. His interactions with the officials are absolute gold.”
“This guy had been crazy good since his arrival. I had my doubts but he has improved Ndombele alongside him. That base should allow us to unleash all the attackers we have. Fingers crossed Jose goes for it. Nothing to lose now.”
“Great teams win ugly and win beautifully. It’s the winning that makes u great, not the style. We’re proud of the players today. Let’s keep winning!.”
It is clear the midfielder has become a fan favourite in N17, with the calls to make the midfielder the Spurs captain demonstrating the high regard the supporters hold him in.
