Lots of Tottenham supporters have been discussing a news update about Daniel Levy’s wish regarding Gareth Bale.
Eurosport has recently reported about Bale’s situation, stating that while Spurs are keen to keep Bale at the club beyond this season, Levy is a big admirer of the Welshman and he has dreams of seeing the Real Madrid loanee celebrate in front of a packed White Hart Lane.
The report states that Levy, as a result, has negotiated a first-refusal clause when Spurs ended up signing the Welshman on a loan deal in the summer.
The news about Levy’s dream about Bale was relayed on Twitter by The Spurs Express. Lots of Tottenham supporters made their views clear about it.
What did Spurs fans make of this news?
“He’s 31 and his wages are 600k we shouldn’t buy him permanently.”

“Extend the loan would be fantastic. No chance at a purchase unless spurs wait a year then try. He’d be off the MLS or China by then in my opinion.“
“If it doesn’t work then don’t paint a black dot on Bale, this could become embarrassing.”

The report from Eurosport also added more detail about Bale’s situation, saying that Spurs’ negotiations around the Welshman were helped by the fact that Real Madrid managed to pay one month of his salary, with Levy seemingly preparing for the possibility of extending his stay in north London.
The former Southampton man has impressed in recent weeks, picking up braces against Crystal Palace and Burnley.
“Not a chance we sign him unless it’s another loan, much rather shell out 30m a year and a fee on 2 new defenders.”
“Not sure tbh. I would much rather play Bergwijn and buy new centre backs and potentially a right back than pay the 20-30 million for him. Same goes for Vinicius whatever his price is. Unless we can afford both, which would be ideal.”
“Don’t jump the gun, wait till end of season to see if he stays fit.“

Lots of Spurs fans are cautious about the club signing Bale permanently and some want Spurs to sign him on another loan deal.
Bale’s current deal at Real Madrid runs out in the summer of 2022 and if Spurs want to sign him permanently in the summer, they’d have to pay a fee for him and then afford his wage. So signing him on another loan deal would make sense, as they could then sign him permanently in 2022.
