Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a post reported that neither Real Madrid president Florentino Perez nor manager Zinedine Zidane want the Welshman back at the club.

The 31-year-old re-joined Spurs last summer on loan after spending seven trophy-laden years in the Spanish capital, winning four Champions League crowns, two La Liga titles and one Copa del Rey.

However, Bale has struggled with several injury issues in recent seasons and reportedly fell out with Zidane in a breakdown in relations between the pair, leading to his return to the north London outfit.

During a press conference (via Football.london) earlier in the week, the Southampton academy graduate said the reason he came to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season was to get ‘match fit’ for Wales ahead of this year’s delayed European Championships.

Now though, Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness) has indicated that a return to the Bernabeu is not what the reigning La Liga champions want, and it seems as though these Spurs fans feel the same way.

“Now not wanted by Spurs fans too”

@ubermenschs

“So disappointing man, Despite Bale not playing regular football for 2 seasons, despite him being injured and despite him having massive wages Spurs took him back, nursed him back to health, showed him love and became patient with him. Instead, the club got this”

@Rg_nald_SA

“Such a poor football attitude. Now no one really wants him, a shame because a really talented footballer. Sounds funny to say having one 4 champs leagues but could have been greater”

@dannk23

“Good. I hope he appreciates how thoughtless and needlessly hurtful his comments were to Spurs fans”

@JimmyNick26

“Not wanted at spurs either”

@thfc_owen

“Good. Geezer only cares about money. Worst attitude I’ve ever seen from a footballer”

@AlexRS1028

Bale is still seen as a world-class operator on his day, but his age, injury problems and extortionate wages arguably make him an unfancied option for both Madrid and Spurs at this moment in time.
