Erik Lamela intends to stay Tottenham Hotspur amid rumours of a summer exit.

That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking on the latest Here We Go podcast.

In February, Football Insider reported that Spurs were ready to let Lamela leave in the summer.

Lamela’s limited Spurs prospects

Lamela has only a year remaining on his contract and is struggling for starts under Jose Mourinho.

He has only made five in the Premier League this season.

Mourinho handed Lamela a huge opportunity in last weekend’s North London and after scoring an extraordinary ‘rabona’ goal, the Argentine was sent off for two bookable offences.

Most of his involvement has come in the Europa League and in the domestic cups.

He has three goals and one assist across 12 appearances in those competitions.

The 29-year-old has been with Spurs for nearly eight years now.

He joined in August 2013 for an initial fee of £25.7million as part of the ’s efforts to replace Real Madrid-bound Gareth Bale.

These Spurs slammed Lamela after hearing the news

“The week that keeps on giving!”

“Of course he does, robbing a living at Tottenham”

“Should have got rid of him 7 year ago”

“Pls go”
