The Telegraph have picked out two potential targets for Spurs as they look to strengthen the centre of their defence this summer, which was relayed to fans via @Daily_Hotspur on Twitter.

The club are said to have been tracking Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard and Lille’s Sven Botman in recent months.

Profiling Vestergaard and Botman

Vestergaard has averaged 3.6 successful aerial duels, 1.5 tackles, 1.6 interceptions and four clearances per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season (via WhoScored).

He’s also an accomplished passer of the football, registering 3.9 accurate long balls per game.

And on top of that, he’s bagged three goals.

Transfermarkt value the 28-year-old Danish defender at £16.2million.

Botman is only 21 years old but his numbers are strikingly similar to Vestergaard.

He too is averaging 3.6 successful aerial duels per 90 in Ligue 1, along with 3.8 accurate long balls (via WhoScored).

He is said to be having a ‘fantastic season’ at title-chasing Lille, attracting the reported interest of not only Spurs, but also the likes of Liverpool and AC Milan (via The Athletic).

The Dutchman is valued considerably higher at £22.5million.
