Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting to a post on Twitter after a report emerged linking the club with RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer.

The Austria international has featured over 200 times for the Bundesliga outfit since joining in a £1.8m move from Rapid Vienna back in 2014, impressing throughout his time at the Red Bull Arena, scoring 50 times and providing 41 assists for his teammates.

However, the 27-year-old is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract with Julian Nagelsmann’s side this summer, sparking rumours that Sabitzer could be set for an imminent departure.

According to German outlet Bild, Spurs are the most likely destination for the attacking midfielder, while Leipzig are set to hold out for a fee in the region of £35m despite his contract situation. The news of Sabitzer’s potential arrival appeared to excite large sections of the capital club’s support.

Jose Mourinho’s men are currently sitting just outside the top four in the Premier League standings, but if Sabitzer does arrive over the summer, then the north London outfit could move up to another level.
