Tottenham’s Under-18s enjoyed a fantastic win against Chelsea in a ‘mini’ London derby on Saturday morning.

Roshaun Mathurin scored a hat-trick and Dane Scarlett added two more in a 6-1 rout.

And club fan page The Spurs Express has uncovered an amusing moment in the coverage of the game.

Just before the hour mark, 16-year-old Scarlett fouled Blues player Alfie Gilchrist and then obstructed the taking of the quick free-kick.

The lead commentator took exception to the gamesmanship, asking ‘what are you doing that for?’

The summariser can be heard expressing his dismay at the failure to show Scarlett a yellow card.

Unsurprisingly, given the rivalry between the two clubs, Spurs fans were amused by their reaction.

“kid’s got grown men whining.”

Even putting aside the cunning that will please the first-team boss, Scarlett’s future looks to be very bright. He has averaged a goal-a-game in his 20 appearances this season (via Transfermarkt).

He even pitched in with an assist when he turned out for the senior team in the final minutes of their recent Europa League clash with Wolfsberger AC.

Spurs’ Under-18s are fourth in the Southern Division table, four points off leaders Crystal Palace.
