Test your knowledge of these Newcastle players' market values! How much do you think Miguel Almiron is worth?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was Matty Longstaff and Sean Longstaff’s future after Matty has found himself barely involved all season.

The 20-year-old signed a new deal with Newcastle last summer that expires in 2022 and has only made five first-team appearances this season, ten less than he managed for the first team last year.

Over the Christmas period and into January, Matty played against Manchester City, Liverpool, Leicester City and Arsenal and looked to be back in Steve Bruce’s plans after being injured at the start of the season; however, since then, he hasn’t played.

Sean has played more, making 12 league appearances, but hasn’t featured since the 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United, and Kennedy can’t see either of them remaining on Tyneside if Bruce remains.

He said: “If you look at Steve Bruce’s form for selecting the Longstaffs and his treatment of the Longstaffs, I would suggest that their time at Newcastle United is coming to an end if Steve Bruce remains at the football club.

“I’ve had no suggestions given to me that Steve Bruce is closing his time at Newcastle United. He may be acting like a bloke who’s in the final throes of a career at a football club, but there isn’t any movement from the top in that direction.

“It’s such a shame.”

Do you think the Longstaff brothers will leave?

Yes, it is possible

Yes, it is possible

No, they won't

No, they won't

TIF Thoughts on Kennedy’s claims…

This does not sound good for either Matty or Sean, and if the Shields Gazette reporter is right, then Newcastle might be willing to let two academy graduates go because they won’t sack Bruce.

We think that this would be very sad, and it would be good to know why either Matty or Sean have not been involved much lately, but Bruce has said nothing.

The treatment of both Matty and Sean is said to have caused problems in the dressing room, with many Toon players baffled as to why neither have been involved lately but with Bruce set to keep his job, it could be the end for both Matty and Sean Longstaff at Newcastle.
