On the topic of Gerrard switching Glasgow for Newcastle, Jones had this to say on the potential move.

“But ultimately, it’s the , which is the richest league in the world and it is still the place to be, there’s no doubt about that. And after what Gerrard’s done at Rangers, I don’t think it would scare him, the idea of going to Newcastle and turning that around now.”

Would Gerrard leave Rangers for ?

Gerrard and his Rangers side wrapped up the Scottish Premiership last weekend after Celtic’s draw against Dundee United confirmed the blue side of Glasgow as champions.

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

The way Newcastle are going, it would certainly be a step down for Gerrard.
