A lot of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to vent their anger at the recent comments from BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand.
The former Manchester United star had been discussing the Tyneside club’s position in the Premier League and stance over the failed potential takeover on a recent YouTube video – and even sent a few words out directly to the Toon Army.
He said: “Whether you like it or not, he’s the one who’s put the money up and he’s doing what he thinks is right for the club.
“Whether the Geordies don’t like it, a lot of them hate him and don’t like him but, round your money up and take over the club, then.”
The Newcastle fans were left far from impressed by the 42-year-old’s comments and voiced their frustrations on Twitter.
“This is up there with Richard Keys telling Rafa to use his own money to buy players in any other line of work and you’d be ushered out of the door for talking nonsense, it seems you can get away with spouting ridiculous suggestions as a football “pundit” #nufc

Newcastle are slumped down in 17th place in the Premier League table and in the middle of a relegation battle with 18th-placed Fulham just two points behind them (via Premier League).
The Newcastle fans are going through a tough time at the minute given their position in the league and their reported failed attempt at a takeover from a Saudi Arabia-led consortium. Ferdinand’s comments were only going to rub salt in the wounds and fire up the Toon Army.
It is reported Mike Ashley is still actively looking to sell the club but that could soon change if the club is relegated as it would certainly lower the price of the club.
