Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been sharing their criticism for Toon midfielder Jeff Hendrick and his latest appearance for the Tyneside club during their recent 3-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

Goals from Leandro Trossard, Danny Welbeck and Neal Maupay secured all three points for Graham Potter’s side at the Amex Stadium.

Test your knowledge of these Newcastle players' market values! How much do you think Miguel Almiron is worth?

In the latter stages of the first half, Toon midfielder Isaac Hayden was forced off with an injury, leading to Hendrick coming on in his place off the substitutes bench and seeing the game out.

During his time on the pitch, lots of Toon fans were sharing their thoughts on the midfield man’s performance, with many not feeling too positive towards the Irishman.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say about Hendrick’s performance against Brighton?

Jeff Hendrick couldn’t get a start in a Sunday league team , I’ve seen 16-17 year old with more football skill and intelligence than him and yet Bruce plays him…. #BruceOut #NUFCTakeover”

Newcastle signed Hendrick back in the previous summer transfer window from fellow Premier League side Burnley on a free transfer.

Since his arrival at St. James’ Park, the 29-year-old, who is currently valued at £8.1 million, has made a total of 19 appearances for the Tyneside club across all competitions in which he has managed to score two goals and provide one assist along the way (per Transfermarkt).

Looking at these tweets from this group of Newcastle fans, it appears that they were not impressed by what Hendrick had to offer on the pitch when he came on against Brighton.

Moving forward, the midfield man will have to put in some performances for the team to get these Toon fans back on his side instead of regretting their club’s decision to add him to their squad.
