Newcastle United supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a report linked them with Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer.
The Norway international has enjoyed five trophy-laden years with the Hoops winning three League titles, two Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups during his time at Parkhead.
However, the 22-year-old is set to enter the final year of his contract over the summer and has been linked with a move away from the Glasgow giants as a result.
In recent years Ajer has attracted the attention of some of the continent’s biggest clubs, with AC Milan thought to be tracking his process and, according to the Daily Mail, Newcastle have now entered the running and are preparing an £8m offer.
Steve Bruce’s men are currently embroiled in a battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League, and their supporters are finding it hard to believe that Ajer would want to join the St. James’ Park outfit in their current state.
