Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been sharing their thoughts on Toon attacker Joelinton and whether or not he should be named in the starting XI for their upcoming Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

This comes after The Chronicle recently shared a post on their official Twitter page asking their followers if they would “keep the faith” in Joelinton and start him against Graham Potter’s side when the two teams face each other on Saturday night.

Test your knowledge of these Newcastle players' market values! How much do you think Miguel Almiron is worth?

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Toon fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on the Brazilian and whether or not they would like to see him start against Brighton.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this post about Joelinton and the Brighton game?

“Is this a joke?”

@GilesPhrase

“Absolutely not”

@Bryant15594

“No he’s woeful. Wouldn’t have him in my pub team”

@kevr2606

“No. He’s as much use as a man sent off. Not up to the required standard.”

@ajhsom

“I have never kept faith in him, he’s useless.”

@vegan_explorer

No way, he’s terrible. #NUFC

@AllanBrough

Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these Newcastle fans don’t want to see Joelinton anywhere near the starting line-up to take on Brighton.

Would you start Joelinton against Brighton?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Given how the 24-year-old has only managed to score one goal in the Premier League so far this season, which came back in November, it’s understandable, in our view, why these Toon fans think he should start against Brighton as he may not offer much in the way of an attacking threat.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see whether or not Steve Bruce decides to start Joelinton against Brighton and if he can produce a significant performance in front of goal to prove these fans wrong.
