First up in this Mo Salah quiz, what is his current squad number for Liverpool?

One of the clubs that he spent quite a bit of time on was Liverpool.

While Castles was talking about Liverpool, he discussed Jurgen Klopp’s future and also his relationship with FSG (Fenway Sports Group).

It seems as if the German has had to fight against FSG in the last two transfer windows to get certain bits of business done that otherwise probably wouldn’t have happened.

He said: (38:57) “He’s now been in a situation where he has had to fight with FSG for a sustained period over transfers.

“He had to fight in the summer to get them to bring Thiago Alcantara in; he had to fight to get Diogo Jota in; he had to fight to get players, who I seriously doubt he was happy [with], as replacements for Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez in Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies to try and get something out of the second half of the season.”

Do you think Klopp's relationship with FSG is damaged?

TIF Thoughts on Klopp’s relationship with FSG…

If what Castles says is true, then the German has had to fight the Reds owners for four players in the last two transfer windows.

What maybe didn’t help Klopp’s cause in the last transfer window is that Thiago has struggled in the Premier League, failing to score or provide a single assist in 13 league games this season.

However, Jota has had an electric start to his Liverpool career with nine goals in 17 games, but he has been injured for a while, and without him, the Reds have won just five league games.

Klopp still has until the summer of 2024 on his contract with the Reds, but we think it could be considered a bad sign that he has had to fight FSG for transfers so much lately, and we hope that he doesn’t have to do the same this summer.
