Leeds United fans have been reacting to the display of Illan Meslier during their game with West Ham United.
The stopper has had an impressive start to life in the Premier League, even setting a Premier League record a few weeks ago for the number of clean sheets he’s kept before the age of 21.
But it wasn’t the best of nights for the Frenchman valued at £10.8m on Transfermarkt, allowing his penalty save to drop straight into the path of Jesse Lingard for their opening goal, whilst he arguably could have done better with their second goal as he looked hesitant when he saw the ball sail over his head and onto the head of Craig Dawson.
Those, along with a few other factors, meant that he was at the mercy of the supporters for his display at the London Stadium:
“Genuine question. How long do we continue to “protect” Meslier before we just consider him as one for the future and get a proven keeper in?”
With talk that he could potentially end up moving to a bigger club, hopefully there aren’t too many of these games on the horizon or that could be in jeopardy.
