Leeds United fans have been reacting to comments made by former player Noel Whelan about Adama Traore.

The Wolves winger has been mentioned as a target for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, and there are also reports that claim he will be available for half-price during the summer window. And although that apparently won’t be enough to tempt Leeds United into making a move, who knows if the price gets dropped lower and lower, then Leeds might be tempted.

And speaking in a recent interview with Football Insider, former Leeds player Whelan came across as a massive fan of the Spanish winger claiming that “I don’t think anyone in a Leeds United shirt or any fan would argue that they wouldn’t want him at the football club. When you’re looking at players who are good to watch and can make a difference, he’s up there. It’s only a year ago that Liverpool and Manchester United wanted him.”

However, when his words were relayed to fans on the Leeds Insider Facebook page, it turns out there were some Leeds fans who were willing to argue about wanting the £36m valued winger at the club, as they scoffed at the idea of signing him:

Should Leeds sign Adama Traore this summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

So looks as if Whelan was just a little bit presumptuous on that front. It’s OK, happens to the best of us.
